Volunteer Opportunity for WSMS Students at St. Jude 2012 Marathon

A mother of  a student on Mrs. Murphy's team is organizing student volunteers to cheer on the runners in the St. Jude Marathon, Saturday, December 1, 2012. Student volunteers will pass water out to the runners and cheer them on to victory for St. Jude Hospital. Click on this link: VOLUNTEER NOW to participate. Each student who participates will receive 3 hours of volunteer service credit. It's a great service opportunity!

  5. I'm going to volunteer. The kids in the video look soooooo happy even with all of the struggles they've faced and it makes me feel like I'm takig advantage of the fact that I'm not one of those kids so I don't have to worry about it, but I do and I will always remember that. I may not be one of those kids, but that doesn't mean I can't do anything to help. I CAN HELP, AND I WILL HELP!!!! That video has made me realize that. It has also made me realize that no matter what situtation you are in, you can always make it better.

  6. I'm going to go. Not because I feel sorry for hte cancer patients, but because I know I can make a difference in their lives just by smiling and saying, "good luck". My piano teacher has breast cancer and my 6th grade social studies teacher has breast cancer. This would be really important to me, even though I kinda didn't like Mrs. Virgous. (Please don't tell her I said that.) :(

  29. This is so touching! It makes me realize how lucky I am to have all the things that I have. My mom had 1st stage thyroid cancer and she is ok, but it made me realize how lucky I am to have her in my life. These kids are so strong, to go through so much and be happy because they know that if they beleive and keep hoping for the best, that they will be ok. I will strive to be a better person because I know that there is much worse. Thank you so much for giving everyone hope.
