Last Week's Recap & Next Week's News

Last week we finished up the Physical Processes unit by testing and quizzing on tectonic plate boundaries and types. The students also quizzed on the a comparison/contrast between weathering and erosion. Most students achieved A's on these assessments, and I was very proud of them. We also dipped our toes into our Tennessee unit. We took notes on the physical, historical and demographic information of our state that students will be responsible for on the TCAP. We also took a test run on actual TCAP questions from a released version of the test in the area of physical geography and most students did quite well.

Next week we will continue into the Tennessee unit. Students already have a study guide that I handed out last Thursday. It covers all of the most important information that we need to know. There will be four quizzes and one major test on this unit. Tennessee is one of the major areas tested by the state, and we want our students to be ready for it. In addition to which, we should all be thoroughly familiar with the facts of the state in which we live.

There will also be a folder check grade next week, which brings us up to the progress report. All of my mid-nine weeks grades will be finalized by Friday afternoon per Mr. Page's instructions. If you feel you are not seeing something correctly on Parent Connect next week, you probably aren't. Don't forget, the Board blocks your full access a week or or so before progress reports and final report cards.

Hope everyone has a great week; we certainly will at school! See you all tomorrow!
